Christmas Tree ShipThe Schooner Rouse Simmons, also known as the "Christmas Tree Ship," lies at the bottom of Lake Michigan a few miles from Two Rivers, Milwaukee. Loaded with 5,500 Christmas trees at Thompson Harbor and bound for Chicago, she was lost with all hands on November 23, 1912 in a fierce storm that claimed three other ships and their crews that day.
